Catholic Charities to Benefit from the GREAT GIVE Palm Beach and
Martin Counties on May 17
24 Hours CAN Change Our Community
(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) April 25, 2017 – On May 17, 2017, from midnight to midnight, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is participating in the Great Give Palm Beach & Martin Counties, a 24-hour online giving event led by the United Way of Palm Beach County, Achieve, Nonprofits First and United Way of Martin County. Last year’s event raised $3 million collectively for 504 local nonprofits and Catholic Charities is excited to be a part of the event again this year
From midnight to midnight on May 17, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach will be one of the numerous local participating nonprofits. This community-wide event will celebrate the spirit of philanthropy and the collective effort it takes to strengthen our community while raising critical funds for local nonprofits. Every donation made online will be stretched further if you donate to Catholic Charities through its own unique GREAT GIVE web site:
Here’s another reason to give during the GREAT GIVE: a pool of generous donors have pledged a total of $15,000 in a matching fund which means any gift of $20 or more will be doubled! Also, gifts are then multiplied by additional dollars from bonus pool dollars and hourly prizes from Great Give Palm Beach & Martin Counties - making donor gifts go even further than it would on any other day.
Thank you to the following friends of Catholic Charities that pledged to be a part of the matching gift fund to date: The Arruza Family; The Borynack Family; Mr. and Mrs. Andres B. Fanjul and Family; Findlay Galleries; Florida Crystals Corporation.
In a letter sent to Catholic Charities supporters, Sheila Gomez, Executive Director, explained to donors how impactful their gift is this year as the numbers of clients served unexpectedly grew from 11,500 (annually) to more than 20,000 this year. “Your donation will go a long way in helping us serve the poorest of the poor and the community's most vulnerable. We hope you will consider supporting us on May 17,” said Gomez.
